Your catch is an important part of your fishing trip. Upon leaving the lodge you have a few choices regarding your fish.

TAKING YOUR FISH HOME WITH YOU?

Rest assured that your fish have been cleaned, filleted and individually portioned. For optimum freshness we provide complimentary vacuum packaging, flash freezing, and boxing in airline approved waxed cardboard boxes.

Styrofoam inserts are available at the lodge at the cost of $10/ box.  Note that the boxes are designed to hold 50 lbs of fish WITHOUT the styrofoam inserts.  WITH inserts they should hold approximately 40 lbs.  Inserts are recommended if your fish will be out of a freezer for more than 10 hours from the time it leaves the lodge.

WCR 2010 Home Delivery Program

What is “Home Delivery”?
Rather than taking your fish home with you from the Lodge, your fish can be delivered to your home or office via overnight Fed Ex. Fish are shipped in Styrofoam boxes to ensure your fish arrives in prime condition.
Why should I think about doing it?
Home Delivery allows you to avoid the hassle of carrying your fish through airports, taxis and hotels on your way home. It also enables you to delay the delivery of your fish should you not be returning immediately to home after your departure from the lodge. Home Delivery also ensures your fish boxes are not subject to airline handling fees which can in some cases be over a $100 per box.
How long does it take?
For Shipping within Canada, orders are shipped within 10 days of leaving the Lodge. For Shipping to the USA orders are shipped within 14 days of leaving the Lodge. We always coordinate with you first before shipping your fish to ensure some one will be available to receive it.
How much does it cost?
The final price is made up of two components:
1. a WCR handling fee and
2. the actual fed ex charge.
For delivery in Canada the handling charge is $20 for the first box and $10 for each additional box.
For delivery to the USA the charge is $45 for the first box and 22.50 for each additional box. This handling charge is to cover the cost of Styrofoam boxes, coordination of delivery time and customs and brokerage fees.
Boxes hold between 40lbs and 60lbs each. The Fed Ex charge varies depending upon the weight and destination of the box.
Below are actual billing charges from the 2008 season. These prices include the handling fee, fed ex fee and all applicable taxes. All Amounts are in Canadian Funds.

Your Credit Card will be billed after you receive your fish as we need to wait for the bill from fed ex to calculate the final bill. This will generally be 6 to 8 weeks after you leave the lodge.

FISH PROCESSING

Types of Processing:
Regular Canned (185 g)Small amount of salt added. Approximate recovery: 10 lbs. - 19 cans
Smoked Canned (180 g) Naturally smoked before canning. Approximate recovery: 10 lbs. - 16 cans
Lox Cold smoked (European style) Vacuum packed and must be kept frozen. Approximate recovery: 40% of round weight.
Sliced Lox Cold smoked, interleaved on gold board. One-påound packages. Vacuum packed and must be kept frozen. Approximate recovery: 40% of round weight.
Hot Smoked WEST COAST STYLE Vacuum packed and must be kept frozen. Approximate recovery: 40% of round weight.
Candied Salmon Hot smoked, honey glazed strips. Vacuum packed and must be kept frozen. Approximate recovery: 35% of round weight.
Peppered Candied Salmon Hot smoked, honey glazed strips with course ground peppercorns. Vacuum packed and must be kept frozen. Approximate recovery: 35% of round weight.
Shipping & handling
  1. All shipping & handling charges are extra.
  2. Shipping costs include packing materials, international customs broker fees (when applicable) & handling fees.
  3. Canned product is shipped ground & frozen product is shipped express overnight.
  4. Shipping cost will be calculated based upon your location & the quantities of processed fish.
