Instructor Program

For those of you who are planning a British Columbia sport fishing adventure, you won't find a better way to experience fishing at one of West Coast Resorts lodges than by taking advantage of our Instructor Program.

This unique program is available, at no cost, at all our saltwater fishing locations. When you arrive at any of our saltwater fishing lodges, you'll be immediately introduced to your Instructor for the trip. He'll take you, your fishing partner and another pair of anglers to your boats where the four of you will be briefed on the area, fishing techniques, boat and water safety, and water etiquette. Two of you will fish with the Instructor right away and halfway through the first day the instructor will transfer from your boat into the other twosome's boat. Don't despair. All our boats are equipped with VHF radios to continue communications with your Instructor.

For the full days remaining in your trip your Instructor will spend five hours per day in your boat continuing the hands-on-approach to teaching you more fishing skills. Most fishermen want to "do it on their own" and our Instructors understand this. They will assist you in running the boat, cutting bait, selecting proper trolling speed and depth, and most importantly, they'll instruct you on how to hook and play your trophy.

Our Instructors take pride in stepping back from the fishing action and allowing the guest to learn in a hands-on manner. West Coast Resorts hand picks our Instructors to ensure you are on the water with a real fishing expert and not just a boat driver. This presents a truly unique opportunity for all our guests to become proficient at local fishing techniques.

Photography

West Coast Resorts uses the finest equipment and the best photographers we can find to capture your BIG MOMENT. Each night a slide show of the day’s pictures will be shown in the lounge and you will be able to pick out pictures you would be interested in purchasing. There will be a number of options available to you from standard 5x7 photos to enlargements as great as 24 x 30! Low resolution digital files are also available for those of you who wish to email pictures of your prize catch to friends and family at home!
Some products will be available for you to take with you, but the larger prints, over 8 X 10, we will have to ship to you later.

If you are looking for a particular type of photo, the Photographer will do his or her best to get the kind of shot that you desire.

Should you find it difficult to narrow down your search in selecting that memorable image to take home, don’t fret, shopwestcoastresorts.com is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will be uploaded with the season’s pictures on a trip by trip basis. The price is the same as up at the lodge, just add shipping and handling and your images will arrive at your doorstep!

One thing we are all sure about at West Coast Resorts is that our anglers have a good appetite and appreciate delicious cuisine. We think it must be the great outdoors and hours of playing mighty fish, or maybe it's the delicious creations crafted by our chefs, that keep our guests coming back for more.
